1. Job Title: Duty Managers/ Night Auditors (X3)

Specific Job
Manage the activities of a front desk shift ensuring that guests receive prompt, professional attention and personal recognition. Reports directly to and communicates with the Assistant Rooms Division on all pertinent matters affecting guest service and hotel operations. Provides functional assistance and direction to all departments. Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with other hotel departments as required. Reacts to situations to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel. Responds to guest needs and resolves related problems. Supervises and directs Reception personnel. Supports and assists Front Office personnel and all departments at peak periods. Ensures VIPs and priority club guests receive special attention. Assists in greeting, rooming, and sending off VIP guests. Monitors appropriate standards of conduct, uniform, hygiene, and appearance of staff. Provides input for Front Office meetings. Promotes inter-hotel sales and in-house facilities. Checks billing instructions and monitors guest credit. Analyses and approves discounts and rebates. Takes action with the Property Management Systems (PMS) in emergency situation. Fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures. Accurately balances all hotel income and expenses for 24 hour hotel operating period. Carries out the duties of a Night Receptionist as and when directed to do by the Night Manager.

Selection Criteria

  • Must be vaccinated.
  • Preferably, 2 years experience in front office/guest services or related discipline including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Front Office System.
  • Problem solving and organization skills.

2. Job Title: Guest Service Agent

Specific Job
Responsible for all activities relevant to the Front Desk such as the reception, check in/out, rooming of all Hotel guests, foreign exchange and assisting them with inquiries. Greets all guests at all times in a friendly and helpful manner and attempts to learn and use guest’s name at every opportunity. Registers and rooms all arrivals according to established procedures. Maintains intimate knowledge of departmental standards and procedures. Performs check in, check out and room change procedures and ensures all data are entered completely into the hotel systems in accordance with reservation. Maintains cashier float and ensures accurate daily report of all money received. Attends to guest’s complaints, inquiries and requests, referees problems to supervisor/Assistant Manager if he/she is unable to assist. Does everything possible to ensure that the guests depart the hotels with a positive impression of hotel service. Performs the audit balances and prepares all works for audit in an orderly fashion. When on night shift, checks night report, prepare the morning report and prepare all necessary forms for the guest arrival. Takes personal interest and pride to ensure that the front desk work area is kept clean and in an orderly state at all times.

3. Job Title: Security Officers (X3)

Specific Job
Perform hotel security duties and procedures to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and the property as well as the property’s assets. Responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees and establishment needs. Report to Manager all hotel property deficiencies and safety or security hazards. Initiate action to improve a hazardous situation immediately and maintain the security system. Maintain a good working knowledge of the following; the hotel switchboard and paying system and the control points and the working of the hotel’s gas and air conditioning system. Prevent gambling and sabotage on the hotel premises. Implement the hotel policies and procedures and advise Superiors and Human Resources of action taken. And able to work additional responsibilities as advised by your superiors.

  • Must be vaccinated.
  • Preferably, at least 2-3 years experience as a security officer
  • Good Team player
  • Driver’s license preferred
  • Able to work under pressure

4. Job Title: Gardeners

Specific Job
Maintains the Hotels landscape and indoor and outdoor gardens. Ensure that personal grooming and hygiene standards are being observed;
Follow the work schedule in relation to:

  • watering,
  • mowing,
  • pruning,
  • work in the plant nursery,
  • weeding of landscaped areas as required.

Ensure that the green house, storage areas and all landscaped areas are kept clean and tidy at all times;
Use and maintain equipment correctly and stores them properly after use;
Responsible for keeping, all driveways and walkways free from dry leaves, twigs or branches;
Assist the Head Gardener in the control of garden pests;
Know the chemicals used in the prevention and control of garden pests;
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Able to read and write English.
  • Vocational Certificate or equivalent.

5. Job Title: Handy Men

Specific Job
Assist the Shift Engineer or Chief Engineer with general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure that work is completed to a high standard within your established trade which meets the needs and expectations of your customers. Apply Trade Expertise:

  • Painting; Electrician; Mechanical Engineer; Carpentry; Upholstery; Building; Horticultural; or other.

Maintain the hotel in your qualified trade to the desired standard. Daily inspection and rectification of all public areas in relation to your trade. Complete work orders as requested by the Shift Engineer or Chief Engineer in relation to your trade and other directives to meet customer requirements. Initiate/identify project work required in light of your trade throughout the hotel. Assist the Shift Engineer with the design of a preventative maintenance program. Assist the Shift Engineer with the design of a preventative maintenance program. Use initiative and foresight to undertake tasks outlined within the preventative maintenance program without the direction of the Shift Engineer/Chief Engineer. Be able to show flexibility to change the schedule in light of guest priorities. General building minor maintenance repairs. Ensure pool chemical level is in accordance with legislative requirements, is vacuumed and surrounding area maintained to standards established. Carry out minor tiling or plumbing as directed. Ensure plant rooms are checked and cleaned and are in operating order. Carry pager and respond to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day. Do a lighting check to ensure all globes are in working order. Investigate reported faults for laundry and kitchen equipment. Carry out any minor repairs to guest rooms or public areas. Liaise directly with departments regarding the completion of work orders and prioritise in order of guest satisfaction.
