Vacancy for IT Helpdesk Officer
Job Summary
An IT Helpdesk Officer provides technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and IT system issues. The role involves responding to support requests, maintaining IT equipment, assisting users with technology-related problems, and ensuring the smooth operation of an organization’s IT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to staff and customers.
- Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, phone calls, and walk-in requests.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Set up and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Monitor and maintain IT systems and equipment.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when necessary.
- Maintain records of incidents, requests, and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
- Assist with software updates, system upgrades, and IT projects.
- Provide basic user training and guidance on IT systems and applications.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security procedures, and data protection requirements.
- Perform routine backups and support disaster recovery processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WiFi).
- Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Patience and attention to detail.
This is a junior, entry level position located in our offices in Port Vila.
Remuneration will reflect the position.
