Project: TC Judy and Kevin: Recovery through Food security and livelihoods: Nursery construction supervision contractor
Duration: From mid-August 2023 to end of October 2023 (not full time)
Location: The contractor will visit Aneitym, Futuna, and Aniwa (2 visits to each site).

CARE International has been working in Vanuatu since 2008 supporting communities to strengthen their ability to prepare for and respond to disasters and to empower women and girls. CARE is implementing a food security and livelihoods program in Tafea to enable communities to quickly recover from the damages caused by Cyclone Judy and Kevin, which made a landfall in Vanuatu in March 2023. This is a 12-month program with most activities being implemented in the first 6 months of implementation, including:
- Consultations in communities prior to program deliver in order to ensure full ownership of this program and agreement around nursery locations with chiefs, communities and authorities, Procurement of seeds, nursery material, planting material and agricultural tools for affected households,
- Distribution of material to communities and households,
- Nursery construction in Aneityum, Futuna and Aniwa according to time delivery scheduled agreed,
- Coordination with the Department of Agriculture for DARD to provide technical support (trainings), and
- Monitoring.
