Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking a Street Sales Officer to be based in Tanna.

1. Basic activities important to follow on day-to-day basis:

  • Achieving daily and monthly Target;
  • Relationship building with business partners;
  • Researching the market and related products;
  • Presenting the product or service in a structured professional way face to face to business partners;
  • Stock and Cash management;
  • Market trend update

2. Typical activities for Street Sales Officer include:

  • Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale;
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person;
  • Responding to incoming enquiries;
  • Acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets;
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales;
  • Gathering market and customer information;
  • Representing their company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations;
  • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with Retailers;
  • Challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy;
  • Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions;
  • Creating detailed proposal documents;
  • Liaising with stock team to check the progress of existing orders;
  • Checking the quantities of goods on display and in stock at retail points;
  • Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the Street Sales In charge, or entering figures into a computer system and doing daily reconciliation of the stock and cash;
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets;
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements;
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations;
  • Feeding future buying trends back to superior;
  • Attending team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues;
  • Taking best care of the company properties;
  • Updating and training the retailers on new products and promotions;
  • Following up on competitors activity regularly and update the same to the superior;

1. Knowledge

  • Secondary school graduates
  • Retail Market business value
  • Telecom market channel business
  • Basic sales work experience
  • Have basic knowledge on microsoft Word and Excel
  • Stock and cash reconciliation process
  • Have a Valid Driver’s License

2. Skills

  • Fluent English/ French and Bislama
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Ability to work on a transversal way, understanding all the needs of the different entities
  • Good planning and organizational ability
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Proven leadership with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under pressure.
