Purpose

The State Prosecutor – Prosecutes trials and committal in the Magistrate Court and Supreme Court.

• (SP) prepare and conducts prosecution on behalf of the Public Prosecutor.
• (SP) Assess cases received from police, providing advice about sufficiency of evidence and appropriate charges.
• (SP) Negotiating pleas of guilty in appropriate cases.
