Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversight our delivery partners during construction. The role will be required to be on site full time in Port Vila.
The role will work closely with subcontractors delivering works on site and provide oversight back to our Project Manager who will spend time in both Australia and Vanuatu. The role will take the lead on a day to day basis and manage all site access, undertake inductions, safety assessments and scheduling to ensure works are delivered safely and on time.

Day to day you will be responsible for:

• Managing resources including subcontractors, plant, suppliers and materials
• Ensuring commitment to zero harm, health and safety and environmental compliance
• Checking the quality of works on site and reporting any issues and working with the subcontractors to deliver works on time and on budget.
• A self starter with detailed eye and ability to manage everything on a site.
• Coordinating site access, materials and providing regular feedback (written and oral reports) to ensure the works are completed on time and on budget and to a high quality.
• Schedule/Program Management
• Project Status Reporting
• Communication and engagement with subcontractors to ensure work is delivered in sequence

This is a key role and you will need:

• The ability to drive safety and quality works through operational excellence on time and to budget
• High level of emotional intelligence to work with and build strong relationships with employees, clients, subcontractors, stakeholders and walks the talk
• Demonstrated history in developing a culture of Zero Harm
• Experience in a similar role within the building and construction industry
• Hands on experience gained within a contractor environment in similar industries
• Passionate person who likes a challenge
• Has a keen eye for detail
• Be able to follow procedure
• Honest
• Outstanding organisation and communication skills
• Has the ability to problem solve
• Polite, respectful and works well with others
• Punctual
