Full-Time SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER
Job Description
Live & Learn Environmental Education (Live & Learn Vanuatu) is seeking to recruit a Senior Finance Officer to be based in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
Live & Learn is a key non-government environmental organisation in Vanuatu that participates in a range of activities and contributes to policy development and review and consultation processes and fulfills the role of public awareness and education within or complementary to government projects.
Senior Finance Officer
The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for providing assistance to the Finance Manager in terms of processing and recording financial information, financial reporting and line management of the finance team.
Key Accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial report for the project donor
- Assisting the Finance Manager on audit related activity during internal and external audits.
- Preparing accounting entries and prepare reconciliations.
- Prepare payments to Suppliers
- Follow up with project teams on their activity budget and acquittal reports
- Provide assistance and required support to the officer in the project site
- Ensure that all payment vouchers and other documents are filed in an orderly manner
- Able to work on any other tasks delegated by the Finance Manager when needed
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelors of Accounting/Finance degree from any recognised university
- More than 2 years’ experience working for an NGO and handling project funds
- Excellent experience with financial systems and the use of MYOB program as well as proficiency in the use of excel
- Fluency in Bislama and English

Term:
The successful candidate will be on probation for 3 months and performance will be reviewed before securing a contract which will be reviewed every year. Renewal of contract on an annual basis is based on staff performance. Salary will be negotiated during the interview to commensurate qualification and experience.
