Senior Data Analyst
The Vanuatu Aid for Trade Management Unit (VAMU) operates as a division within the Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MTC), under the supervision of the Office of the Director General.
The MTC deals with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly with the business community encompassing primary producers, processing and manufacturing industries, services firms, traders and exporters. An important flow of data and information is generated through their economic activity, which is barely captured by the Government, apart from preestablished data collection systems developed by the Department of Customs and Inland Revenues (DCIR) and the Vanuatu National Statis Office (VNSO).
The objectives of this Position is to ensure that Data is effectively collected, Managed and Updated.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in related fields such as, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics and Information Management & Technology.
- A minimum of 5 years level of Experience in this field.
- Advance skills in excel, regression, analysis and other data analysis tools and business information’s system.
- Must be a computer literate
- Analytical thinker and a strong organizational time management skill to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues across different departments and stakeholders.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues independently.
- Ethical behavior and integrity in handling confidential information.
- Strong skills in collecting, organize, analyzing data.
- Technical knowledge in database information systems, accuracy and attention to details.
- Knowledge on data visualization methods, excellent communication, presentation and writing report skills.
- Be fluent in English, Bislama and French can be an advantage.
