Vanuatu Post Limited is seeking applicants to fill the following position:

Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant has dual responsibilities for the Accounting and Compliance of Financial Services.

Candidates should have the following experience:

5 years + experience at a middle Management level in a reputable accounting or law firm or in similar position
Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership
Proven experience and ability to drive change to improve the outcomes of a business
Experience in preparation of Financial Statements & Budgets
Experience in Compliance in Financial Service and Corporate Governance an advantage.

Other qualities should include:

Ability to understand relevant laws regarding AML
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Good understanding of business management with sound decision making
Good knowledge of compliance with financial services an advantage
Ability to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines
Capacity to train and coach other members of department
Advances MS Excel skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like MYOB system
Outstanding communication skills – Bislama or English essential, French an advantage.

Applicants should have a University Degree or equivalent academic qualification in accounting and/ or finance or law.
