Job Description
The Safe School Officer will work in Save the Children’s Safe Schools program. Safe Schools is an all-inclusive, all-hazards approach to keep children safe in and around schools. The main component of the Safe Schools Program in Vanuatu is to strengthen national and subnational government policies and systems, improve school safety management and enhance the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of teachers and children on school safety. The Safe School Officer will work through the existing Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) systems to perform tasks promoting school safety, including, building capacity of school to comply with the government’s Harmonized Minimum Quality Standard for education, specifically focusing on Safe Schools measures, and ensuring quality delivery of safe schools program activities to achieve national-level impact. This position will work directly with School Inspection Officers supporting schools across Shefa, Penama and Sanma provinces, monitoring the engagement of Safe Schools’ interventions.
There are 3 opportunities available in the 3 provinces. Each Safe School Officer will report directly to the Provincial Education Officer and Save the Children Field Manager. The position is full time.
