Job Description

In line with the Vanuatu Government’s National Sustainable Development Plan Vanuatu 2030: The People’s Plan, World Vision – in partnership with
communities – delivers programs that are relevant, cost-efficient, effective, and make a lasting difference.

World Vision is now recruiting for an Area Program Manager based in our Area Program Office in Tanna. This position will lead and manage the Area Program contributing to the achievement of coordinated integrated sector programming by:

  • Leading staff in the Area Programme Office, supporting staff to build personal capacity to deliver efficient and
  • effective programming within World Vision Vanuatu Scope of Programming.
  • Working closely with the Country Office Program Quality team, leading and coordinating internal (World Vision) and external (donor) reporting for all projects within the Area Program
  • Working closely with Country Office Operations team, leading and coordinating operational support for all projects within the Area Program including ongoing monitoring of project output.
  • Representing the Area Programme in all relevant external meetings with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the WVV Senior Management Team on wide variety of items impacting World Vision’s overall programming across Vanuatu.

The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience in programme or project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing
  • Experience managing multiple project teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – fluency in English
  • Relational skills, especially in cross-cultural environment
  • Strong planning, organisational and project management skills and ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with national staff and passion for capacity building & organisational development
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, email and internet
  • Ability to analyses and solve problems, persuade, network and negotiate
  • Programming knowledge of specific sectors (Education, Water & Sanitation, Health, Agriculture and Social Work) an asset.

An annual salary package of between VT 2,482,876 and VT 2,749,416 will be offered for this
position dependent on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. This package also
includes additional medical benefits, cost of living allowance and annual leave.
