Full-Time QUALITY AND AUDIT OFFICER

Job Description

The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) is looking to appoint a Quality and Audit Officer.

The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT), the country’s biggest Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institute has the primary purpose as the center of excellence for public technical, vocational, business, hospitality, and continuing education in Vanuatu, contributing to the economic and social development of all its islands and citizens.

VIT aims to appoint a solutions-driven, proactive, team orientated and effective professional who is committed to whole institute improvement and is excited to lead the Human Resources Department in VIT’s next phase of development.

A statutory body enacted under the Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) Act of 2001, VIT as an Institute has eight (8) main functions. As a member of the VIT management team, you will demonstrate a track record of achievement and have the talent and energy to inspire, motivate and develop those around you. You will be driven by your values, passion and determination to transform the lives of young people in Vanuatu.

The Quality and Audit officer is responsible for:

1. Managing the quality management system (QMS)
2. Compliance to the governing bodies ensuring the continued registration of the VIT
3. Developing and continually improving the QMS
4. carrying out self-assessments/internal audits (yearly or as deemed necessary)
5. ensuring, through the auditing process, that data is collected, evaluated, reported – using this data to create continuous improvement strategies (e.g. design and distribute questionnaires and evaluations)
6. improving the quality of the organization’s internal operations by working with staff to review and improve systems
7. developing and implementing a proactive internal and external consultation and communications strategy
8. Assisting management with their areas of compliance
Monitor the organizations roles and responsibilities and update relevant documents, including the organizational chart and other process flowcharts

Duties:

  • Manage the QMS
  • Coordinate self-assessment/internal audits and reporting to management
  • Develop and implement proactive internal and external communications strategies
  • Using data gathered, identify opportunities for business development and income generating opportunities for the school
  • Work with the management team to develop and maintain a strategic perspective for organizational management system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Business, Management or Public Administration or Diploma in Business or other relevant field and minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality assurance and auditing.
  • Skills, knowledge, experience in the design and execution of the self-assessment/auditing process
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and networking skills
  • Experience designing policies and procedures
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
