Job Description
BRED (Vanuatu) Limited is part of the second largest banking group in France, “Banque Populaire”, which also has regional outlets in New Caledonia, Tahiti, Vanuatu, Fiji and Solomon Islands. An opportunity is available for a suitably experienced and qualified PROJECT OFFICER to be based in Port Vila.
Reporting to the Manager – Project, the Project Officer works closely with Manager – Projects and Head – IT [Deputy GM] in implementing the business’ IT strategy and projects set out in BVL’s Business Plan. While responsibility for business projects lies with the Manager – Projects, this role is expected to provide technical and administrative support to ensure the implementation of the projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Work with Manager Projects & Processes and business units to provide professional and efficient delivery in IT and EB Projects;
Timely implementation of the activities to be carried out and propose corrective action where required;
Effectively communicate relevant project information to project stakeholders, senior management and project team in a timely and clear fashion;
Plan and execute change management activities to ensure efficient transition into Operations and utilization of project deliverables by the business;
Provide technical user support for new systems that are implemented;
Interact with stakeholders to understand and document their requirements and model future business or operational processes and design related systems;
Implement business process improvement initiatives throughout the organization;
Revising and updating procedures related;
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Tertiary qualification – Minimum requirement: University Degree in Information Technology, Banking & Finance or a related field from a credible international institution;
Experience – minimum of 2 years of experience in information technology and electronic banking functions within a banking or financial environment and/or project management skills;
Essential – strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;
Fluent in English but being bi-lingual would be an advantage;
Approachable personality, team player and comfortable working as part of a diverse and multicultural organization.
