Job Description

The Gender Equality Project Manager (ANCP), provides senior level leadership and management for the ANCP project. The position involves the management and responsibility of functional expertise including leading a team, project development, representation, financial accountability and project management.
The Project Manager – Gender Equality is a proven and experienced professional that manages key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and manages a team of direct reports.
The position will initially lead on the start-up and then implementation of the ANCP project with the Tafea-based GIVE team.

Your responsibilities will be varied and will include;

  • Contribute to the inception, and update to the design of the ANCP project within the Gender Equality Program including analysis, theory of change, developing
    project concepts and sourcing funding and partnership opportunities;
  • Provide leadership to the GIVE (ANCP) team
  • Lead on planning and coordinating startup of the ANCP project;
  • Ensure effective and accountable project budget management through day-to-day budget management for the GIVE team;

You will have;

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a gender equality and/or community development focus; and/ or 5-7 years relevant work experience, preferably for an
    International Non-Government Organisation (INGO)
  • Proven experience in managing projects through all stages of the project cycle
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively leading, people management and motivating a team
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, decision making, problem solving, planning, analytical and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor budgets and to manage cash
  • Representational skills including developing networks and relationships with other key stakeholders
  • Proven understanding of working with an International Non-Government Organisation (INGO) and a willingness to learn about CARE, gender equality and
    women’s empowerment activities
