Contract PRINCIPAL RECOVERY COORDINATOR
Job Description
The Department of Strategic Policy, Planning and Aid Coordination (DSPPAC) within the Ministry of the Prime Minister, has the overall responsibility for disaster recovery planning and coordination efforts. Within DSPPAC, the newly established Disaster Recovery Coordination Unit (DRCU) is seeking for suitable people for the position of:
Principal Recovery Coordinator – Post 039
– Scale Ps 9.1 (VT: 3,408,300)
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Qualifications
Masters level: Law OR Economics OR Commerce OR Public Administration OR Project Management OR Disaster Response OR related field
Experience
Min 3-5 years’ experience in a donor agency, NGO or Government institution working in the disaster/emergency sector
Skills Knowledge/competencies
- Sound report writing and analysis
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Familiarity with the Government financial management system (SmartStream) an advantage.
- Self-directed (able to identify and undertake other tasks in times of low work-load)
- Negotiation Skills
- Good verbal and written communicator
- Bislama and English is required; French an advantage
This position is to be contracted for two years with possibility of extension or permanent appointment to be made upon the completion of the contract.
