The Board of Port Vila International School (PVIS) invites applications from experienced school leaders to be the next Principal of our wonderful school.

PVIS is an independent, not for profit, co-educational Early Education to Year 12 school located in Port Vila, Vanuatu, with a student population of approximately 420 students. We proudly and exclusively teach the Australian Curriculum in Primary and Secondary and the SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) at years 11 and 12. The school celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2022.
The current Principal is a member of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools Australia (AHISA) and has been recently appointed to an Executive Principalship role in Australia
The role
The Board seeks an experienced educator who ideally has an international/multicultural background and clearly demonstrates a firm understanding of and commitment to a holistic education with strong academic outcomes.
We seek the right person to lead the realisation of our ambitions for PVIS, reflected in our new Strategic Plan (pvis.edu.vu/strategicplan). The successful candidate will need to contribute warmth, joy and care for each member of our community while also demonstrating high levels of strategic vision, financial acumen and professional accountability in a rich intercultural context.
The Principal is responsible for implementing the vision and governing policies of the school; and for the day-to-day management of PVIS. The Principal reports to the PVIS Board and is also a Board Director themselves. The Principal is assisted by a committed Senior Leadership Team consisting of the Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal/SACE Coordinator as well being supported by a Finance and Operations Manager.
