Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking for a Power Engineer to be based in Port-Vila.

Missions
The Power Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of the electrical power systems that support telecommunications networks. These systems may include power distribution equipment, generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and other electrical components. The Power Engineer works closely with the Engineering team to ensure that the network is reliable and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Design and install new electrical power systems for telecommunications networks
• Maintain and repair existing electrical power systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical power problems
• Develop and implement power energy saving projects
• Work with the Engineering team on power network infrastructure planning
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies and trends in telecommunications power systems
• Organise and implement the Power audit of all Vodafone Vanuatu sites.
• Supervise and assisting junior staffs in power department
• Collect and Analyse electricity billing consumption

Competences:
1. Knowledge

• Bachelor’s in electrical/Electronic and communication engineering or Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of the power solution On/Off Grid, Solar systems, transformers and metering including power plants.
• System power design and monitoring will be an advantage.

2. Skills

• Fluent English
• Proficiency in oral and written communication
• Target oriented and be able to set high goals for self and others, focusing on the delivery of targets, quality and deadlines
• 5 years minimum experience in the operations and maintenance of Power network
• Proven background in the operations and maintenance of power equipment use of network monitoring tools and test equipment
• Ability to follow directions and procedures
• Customer and service oriented
• Have a Valid Driver’s Licence
