VACANCY NOTICE

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development wishes to recruit an experienced
qualified person for Agricultural Investment for Markets & Nutrition Project to the following
position:

Job Title: Partnership Development Officer (PENAMA Province)
Annual Salary VT: 2.4 – 2.6 million
Location: Saratamata, Ambae
Duration: 4-5 years

Selection Criteria:

1. A higher degree in agricultural economics, agricultural science, agribusiness, business administration, supply chain management or related discipline.
2. A minimum of three-year experience in agribusiness and value chain development, with proven skills in the management and coordination of value chain enhancement initiatives and programmes within the agricultural sector.
3. Experience in establishing and building capacities of Farmers’ Organizations desirable.
4. The candidate would be expected to have a creative, energetic but pragmatic approach to problem solving and an appreciation of the respective roles of the public and private sectors in rural economic development.
5. Computer literacy is requisite and good command of spoken and written English is essential.
6. The candidate should be fully aware of and alert to the crosscutting issues of gender, youth, marginalized groups, discrimination and poverty targeting.
