CARE International in Vanuatu has a focus on Gender Equality, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Humanitarian Preparedness and Emergency Response.

CARE is currently looking for a Partnership Coordinator to be based in our Port Vila office with frequent travel to Pentecost and Tanna (up to 30% of the time).

Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include:

  • Contribute to the development and updating of CARE’s Partnership Strategy and long term program strategy
  • Manage relationship with CARE Vanuatu’s existing partners through a nurturing, trusting and respectful partnerships
  • Support the Recovery Manager and the Finance and Compliance Coordinator to track and monitor partner finance expenditure and contribute to the development of costed work plans

Required qualifications and skills:
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience developing, maintaining and strengthening partnerships and organizations within a civil society context
  • Proven experience in facilitating workshops is considered an asset (trainings, inception workshops, lessons learnt process)
  • Proven knowledge and experience working on gender equality, resilience, food security and livelihood projects
  • Professional communication in Bislama and excellent English
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills, including the ability to plan and manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines in a complex environment
  • Ability to develop high quality and effectively with communities and vulnerable groups including at risk youth and children
  • Fully conversant in Office applications, keyboard/data entry and numeracy skills
  • Demonstrated passion for gender equality and women’s empowerment and a commitment to CARE’s approach and values including ethnic diversity and cultural sensitivity
