Full-Time MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment and facilities to support seamless production operations. This role involves developing and executing maintenance strategies, leading and mentoring the maintenance team, overseeing maintenance activities and budgets, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes and performance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design preventive maintenance schedules for farm machinery and supercritical CO2 extraction systems to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Conduct regular inspections of tractors, harvesters, and supercritical CO2 extraction equipment to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Supervise and train maintenance team, ensuring they have the skills necessary to maintain specialized equipment, including both farm machinery and extraction systems.
  • Ensure that spare parts for both the farming equipment and supercritical CO2 extraction equipment are adequately stocked and ordered in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee the maintenance budget, tracking expenses related to equipment repair, replacement, and upgrades while maximizing cost efficiency.
  • Enforce adherence to all relevant safety standards and regulations, particularly for high-pressure supercritical CO2 systems and hazardous farming environments.
  • Lead diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of farm machinery and CO2 extraction systems to minimize production disruptions.
  • Work with external suppliers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure timely maintenance and technical support for both agricultural machinery and specialized extraction equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance procedures, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency across both farming and extraction operations.
  • Keep accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and replacements for all equipment under the department’s purview.
  • Develop and implement emergency response procedures to address unplanned equipment failures and restore operations swiftly.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiar with maintenance management software.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise professional tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with coworkers.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, company product codes and terminology.
  • Thorough understanding of production policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance management experience, preferably in an agricultural, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Direct experience with maintaining farm equipment and supercritical CO2 extraction systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach and climb to perform duties.
