Contract LOCAL CONSULTANT
Job Description
The Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation (DEPC) through the Ministry of Climate Change has the overall legal mandate and responsibility to ensure the protection of Vanuatu’s environment through implementation of seven legislations and a number of policy directives that are administered by the Department, One of the national environment policy directivesis the National Invasive Species Strategy
and Action Plan (NISSAP) of 2014-2020 that now needs review for another 6 year time frame.
Following the need, to review the NISSAP, the DEPC wishes to recruit the following position to undertake outlined tasks:
Position: Local Consultant
Duration of Work: 30 Days
Place of Assignment: Santo & Port Vila
Qualifications and Requirement
- Candidates applying for this position must have a graduate degree or Masters in Environmental Field and or Biosecurity Page 2 of 2
- Have some understanding of the National Invasive Species Strategies and Action Plan (NISSAP)
- Has experience with policies and strategies development
- At least more than 5 years’ working experience in similar or related fields.
- Proven track record in delivering on time and quality expectations within budget.
- Analytical and Innovative thinker
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a range of audiences, stakeholders, funders and partners.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and other web-based management systems
- Excellent written and oral English or French and Bislama
