Job title: Licensing and Tenement Registrar
Post N#: 5271
Salary Scale: PS 6.4
Purpose:
Oversea and coordinate all licensing and policy directions relating to quarry, mineral, geothermal and Petroleum activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate implementation of all policy issues related to quarry, mining, geothermal and petroleum activities.
- Coordinate and manage quarry permitting and mining, petroleum and geothermal licenses issued, to be in accordance with relevant legislative framework.
- Coordinate and liaise with the Tenement and Compliance office for consultations in relation to quarry, mining, petroleum and geothermal activities in Vanuatu.
- Responsible for liaising with interested investors on matters relating to tenements issues.
- Develop policies and regulations for the effective and sustainable management of mineral, quarry, petroleum and geothermal development in the country.
- Responsible for advising the commissioner of Mines where necessary on matters related to mining, quarry, geothermal and petroleum activities.
- Assist the commissioner of mines to prosecute any person carrying out illegal operations.
- Carry out other relevant duties as directed by the Commissioner.
- Qualification: Degree
- Special Business Education: Earth Science and Law and any related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of work experience.
