Background
With funding from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), the Vanuatu Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) is implementing the Education Sector Program Implementation Grant (ESPIG) from April 2021 – December 2023. The ESPIG supports key priorities within the Vanuatu Education and Training Sector Strategic Plan (VETSS 2020-2030), including improving access to early grade reading books, improving inclusive education, and strengthening pre-service teacher training. Save the Children is the GPE Grant Agent in Vanuatu, and provides fiduciary, operational, and technical support for all ESPIG activities.
To support the implementation of new teacher training qualifications, the program will fund an additional specialist lecturer for Language and Literacy for two years. The new lecturer will develop, teach and assess teacher education courses in ECCE, primary and secondary to ensure these are aligned with the national school curriculum and international best practice in literacy acquisition. The selected candidate will also build the capacity of NUV-SOE lecturers and contribute to improving teaching practice.
One position is available for up to 24 months (depending on performance). Preference will be made to bilingual (English/French) candidates. Women and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: 4.7 M VT – 7.0 M VT per annum + 25% benefits based on qualification and experience.
