Infrastructure Support Officer
The Vanuatu Australia Health Partnership (VAHP) represents a 15-year bilateral investment from the Australian Government to support Vanuatu’s Ministry of Health (MoH) to deliver the health components of the National Sustainable Development Plan 2016–2030. VAHP works alongside the Ministry of Health corporate services, public health and clinic services staff to increase delivery of equitable, accessible and better-quality essential health services, and support senior staff to lead continuous improvement and strengthened accountability of the Vanuatu health sector.
The Infrastructure Support Officer will assist the Ministry of Health’s Assets and Infrastructure Unit (AIU) in managing infrastructure, assets, procurement, and contracts for humanitarian aid and cyclone recovery projects funded by the Australian Government. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health, provincial health centres, the Central Tenders Board, contractors, and affected communities. The officer will receive structured coaching and mentoring from the Capital Works Support to prepare for this critical role, with the position intended to eventually transition into the Ministry of Health workforce. Employed by DT Global and based in Port Vila, the role requires travel to outer islands and reports to the VAHP Program Implementation Lead, AIU Manager, and MoH Infrastructure Unit with domestic travel to remote Vanuatu island communities as and when required.
