OFFICE OF DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR AND VICE PRESIDENT (REGIONAL CAMPUSES & GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT), ITS – VIT004
The Opportunity
Provides an onsite ICT support resource for all ICT Services in Emalus campus by providing the first point of contact for all ICT Services to USP Emalus Campus staff and student users.
The appointee will:
- Providing users with a professional and helpful point of contact for any ICT issues related to campus IT Services.
- Provides first level information when fielding queries and/or escalates efficiently to appropriate senior IT Staff locally or in Laucala Campus and external vendors.
- Tracks & monitors resolution process through ITS while ensuring appropriate feedback to users.
- be able to work (occasionally after hours) in a multi-cultural environment and able to travel to other USP outer sub-centers and regional campuses as required
- Compiles user guide information by documenting the ICT services for awareness promotion and training programmes.
- Promotes awareness programmes of ICT services by disseminating user guide information.
- Enhances usages of ICT services by conducting awareness programmes for staff and student during orientation weeks.
- Supports Learning and Teaching Plans by providing ICT services to users.
- Assists with routine maintenance of equipment facilities and resources by adhering to the O&M schedule.
- Assists with operation of ICT equipment, services and resources by adhering to schedules
- Monitors services by determining faults, outages or deterioration in service.
- Creates appropriate system work orders by logging services fault or issues with central helpdesk.
- Isolates issues by conducting First Level troubleshooting.
- Provides onsite supports by escalating to Second Level Support.
- Provides progress and resolution by communicating to relevant User(s).
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Computing/ Information Systems or 5 years’ experience in relevant field(s)
- Excellent knowledge and experience with standard desktop applications such as the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- A working knowledge of ICT communication and computing equipment and Enterprise-level ICT technologies.
- Any relevant technical certification on relevant ICT networking, systems, PC, OS or application technologies will be an added advantage
- A working knowledge of VSAT Systems, IP Networking, MS and Linux Server Systems, Audio-Visual Conferencing Systems and standard PC Hardware + OS, desktop applications and web/internet based applications

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: VUV 1,432,282 to VUV 1,722,122 per annum
