VACANCY

HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR
Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to be based in Port Vila.

Mission
To overlook the overall aspect of Human Resources Management in the organisation. The Human Resources Coordinator is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function.

Main Duties

  • Work with CEO and/or Directors to strategically plan Human Resources initiatives that will benefit the company and encourage more efficient and beneficial work from employees.
  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel and ensures employees understand and comply with them.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost- effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  • Ensure full compliance of the organization with local labour law and meet all statutory obligations.
  • Assess training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives for all employees.
  • Monitor Human Resources department’s budget.
  • Manage employees’ grievances.
  • Measure employee retention and turnover rates.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Human Resources department.
  • Direct all hiring and training procedures for new employees.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains company organization charts and keeps employee handbook current.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Competences:
1. Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of management experience in Human Resource.
  • Exposure to Labour Law and employment equity regulations.
  • A proven leader with strong interpersonal skills, keen to motivate and effectively educate and connect department managers and employees regarding all Human Resources matters.
  • Exposure to payroll practices.

2. Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

3. Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and a multi ethical, cultural, and national environment. The position is to ensure that a good working environment is sustained at all times Relevant working experiences as an in-house legal advisor or with a commercial law fir.m

4. Personal characteristics

  • Full understanding of Human Resources functions and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of English, French and/or Bislama a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert stress management skills and ability to make important decisions under pressure.
  • Attentive listener; understanding, empathetic, and personable.
  • Exceptional time management and quality control skills with attention to detail that ensure accurate and timely delivery of work products.
  • A strict high level of confidentiality required matched with a deep respect for and commitment to protecting sensitive information.
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Positive, go-getter attitude.
