Iririki Island Resort & Spa is seeking a suitable candidate to appoint for following position
HUMAN RESOURSE OFFICER
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In conjunction with the General Manager:
- Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
- Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers benefits programs such as life, medical insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.
- Envisioning and maintaining office systems, including data management and filing.
- Arranging travel, visas and accommodation and, occasionally, travelling with the manager to take notes at meetings and provide general assistance during presentations.
- Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them where appropriate.
- Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority.
- Organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments.
- Dealing with incoming email, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of the manager.
- Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings.
Knowledge & Experience:
- An HR qualification or similar is ideally required. The post holder must have strong user level IT skills, especially MS Office Suite including Powerpoint.
- Must speak Bislama & English, with French an advantage
- Be able to explain employment standards and legislation such as workers compensation, labour standards, VNPF and the Vanuatu Employment Act
- Previous Human Resource experience within a large organisation (especially Hotel/Resort) is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required, able to liaise and work closely with people at all levels, as well as external contacts
This is a full time position to commence immediately
