Contract HIRING DATA PROCESSING JUNIOR SPECIALIST / JUNIOR CONSULTANT
Job Description
The Vanuatu Community-based Climate Resilience Project (VCCRP) is the largest community-based, climate change adaptation project ever delivered in the Pacific designed to reduce the climate-related vulnerabilities of communities across all six provinces of Vanuatu. The VCCRP is a partnership between the Vanuatu Government through the Ministry of Climate Change Adaptation, Meteorology, Geo-Hazards, Energy, Environment and Disaster Management, and Save the Children (SCV) working alongside the ministries and government agencies.
Hiring data processing junior specialist / junior consultant
Based in Port Vila between July or August 2024 to December 2024.
In partnership with the government and Save the Children Vanuatu, VCCRP project is seeking support from a data processing junior consultant to support data processing coming in from all targeted Area Councils in various channels, formats and modalities. The data processing junior consultant will work closely with the team members, either in person in Vila or remotely, including with the Provincial Coordinators and Area Council Climate Change Officers and MEAL Manager. The time allocated to the position amounts to app. 20 hours per week (approximately half-time).
Tasks of the data processing junior consultant include:
- Maintain and improve data processing and data aggregation tools.
- Maintain and/or support filing system for all updates and reports.
- Work closely with colleagues requiring program data inputs for reports.
- Maintain a database of people reached by different activities.
- Identify gaps in reporting and propose improvement solutions.
- Attend all required trainings.
VCCRP project, through the Save the Children will provide:
- Necessary training and equipment.
- Major tools and procedures/SOPs that currently exist.
- Induction into the project and meeting the team.
- Desk or office space and the laptop.
Skills and experience needed
- Proficiency in spoken and written Bislama required.
- Previous experience in data collection, data processing, conducting assessment and
coordination of activities in Vanuatu. - Training in relevant fields: data processing, data management, statistics, monitoring and
evaluation - Very good personal skills, including collaboration, communication and skills in coordination
of activities.
All personals engaged in the program are required to undergo a National Police Check, sign criminal declaration form, Child Safeguarding Policy, and Code of Conduct.
Duration period
The tasks should be performed between July (or August) 2024 to December 2024.
Payments
Payments will be organised based on timesheets completed and approved by the supervisor,
fortnightly or monthly. Salary will be offered based on candidate’s qualifications.
