HEAD OF ACCOUNTING, REPORTING AND ROAMING COORDINATION
Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking for a Head of Accounting, Reporting and Roaming Coordination to be based
in Port-Vila.
Missions
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the entire weekly/monthly customer reports and oversee the finance functions M-Vatu, Roaming, Annual Financial Statements, and adhoc reporting. The role will report to the Chief Finance Officer and assure effective financial reporting and compliance with all financial regulations and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare reports and financial statements and manage the internal and external review for these documents
- Ensure regulatory compliance as well as monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting practices
2. Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues
3. Assist in the coordination of annual audit and review activities of external auditors
- Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
4. Perform continuous assessment of the period close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period
- Support month end and year end closing
5. Performs monthly Bank Reconciliations for all banks with the General Ledger and ensure that all lodgements and other reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner
6. Coordinate the financial operations of the M-Vatu including monthly reporting, M-Vatu revenue recognition and all reconciliations related to M-Vatu, e-value creation/destructions and agent reimbursements. To ensure that all internal agents of M-Vatu are regularly audited on the cash floats and daily reconciliations. Manage inward and outward international remittances from finance perspective and quarterly reporting to Reserve Bank of Vanuatu.
7. Roaming Coordinator. Perform second review roaming proposals brought by Regional Roaming Coordinator as per company guidelines, ensure proper International Roaming Agreements are signed off as per the GSMA updated versions of AA.12, AA.13, C.11 documents, conduct TADIG testing by verifying IREG test results with relevant TAP test file (TD File) and ensuring relevant TD Files are exchanged, exchange existing GSMA roaming documents whenever there is an update, conduct random testing with existing roaming partners or whenever required, manage existing roaming test sims, both internally and those with Roaming Partners, manage customer complaints as and when required, with existing roaming test sims, contact relevant technical support groups, if necessary, whether internally with Technical or externally with Signalling provider, STP Carriers or the Roaming Partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and financial Management or equivalent
- Be analytical and detail-oriented with good financial skills and an expert understanding of current accounting principles
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in a chartered accountancy firm will be advantageous
- Additional qualification as such CPA, CA or equivalent would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of business principles and finance in order to interpret data and make strategic recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to analyse and summarize complex information.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with spread sheet and accounting software programs.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding environment
- Solid leadership skills with ability to motivate and direct a team of qualified accountants
