Full-Time GRAPHIC ARTIST
Job Description
DoWR is hiring an analytical and graphic artist, who can create Provincial and Area Council profiles with basic Water, Sanitation and Hygiene data included to give
local government decision makers the information they need to make informed decisions. The selected candidate will coordinate with key stakeholders, review
existing materials, and incorporate feedback from WASH sector actors. The provincial profiles should help create political will for improved household water treatment.
Objectives:
- Design Sample Provincial and Area Council WASH Profile format
- Create 6 Provincial WASH Profiles and 71 area council profiles after format is approved by DoWR
- Create other graphic products as needed, community newsletters, posters and flyers agreed upon at start of contract
- Present format, profiles and other created materials to WASH Sector Actors at WASH Sector Meetings.
Proposed Tasks:
- Join Orientation with DoWR PRO
- Create a draft schedule at the start of contract together with the PRO
- Conduct key informant Interviews with Ministry of Health, Department of Local authorities, DoWR, Provincial Planners & UNICEF to identify existing information and additional needs
- Follow-up with key informants
- Review existing materials such as:
– DoWR Water Quality Dashboard
– Water Resources Inventory data and questionnaires
– MoH and other provincial profiles
– Water Quality Tests and Results Map
– Completed DWSSPs
– Registered water systems (Area council profile only)
– Surface water resources, such as lakes and rivers, (Area council profile only)
– Registered water committees (# and % female)
– Water system Functionality from Water Resources Inventory
– Sanitation Data from Census
– Hand-washing facilities at institutions from UNFPA/MOH survey
– % of 1, 2, 3 star WASH in Schools from MoET database (VEHMIS)
– WASH in Healthcare Facilities - Present list of key items to be included in Provincial and Area Council Profiles and other graphic products such as community newsletters, posters and flyers
- Present Draft Provincial and Area Council Profile Format and other Products to WASH Sector and DoWR staff for feedback and share via email to [email protected]
- Present Six Profiles and 72 Area Council Profiles and other agreed upon graphic products to DLA, WASH Cluster and DoWR staff for feedback and share via email
- Submit Final Profiles and other graphics requested in a format that DoWR can edit in the future.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
- Ability to work alone and initiate meetings with the government and other WASH stakeholders
- Graphic Artist Skills
- Own computer with relevant software
- Examples of high-quality similar work showing detailed information in graphic form.
Reporting lines:
- This position will be managed by the DoWR PRO with assistance from UNICEF Technical Assistance.
Payment:
- As per the below, invoices must be submitted inline with agreed upon workplan. Graphic Artist will only be paid upon receipt of approved deliverables agreed by DoWR at start of contract.
