Job title: Geologist

Salary Scale: PS 6.4

Purpose:
Responsible for executing mineral and petroleum research works and Geological work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing technical advice on our nations onshore and offshore geological resources.
• Responsible for executing geological and mineral research either independently or in close collaboration with regional or international organizations.
• Responsible for carrying out field mapping, site investigations, environmental assessments and updating geological maps.
• Assist mining companies in areas of mineral and hydrocarbon prospecting to ensure work programs are carried out effectively.
• Responsible in providing geological and technical advice to national infrastructure developments.
• Carry out others duties as directed by the Director or the Chief Geologist.

 

• Qualification: Degree
• Special Business Education: Earth Science or Geology
• Experience: 3-5 years experience in mineral exploration administration and a good background in economic geology. Ability to provide constructive policy advice to the Director and Director General.
