Are you passionate about finance and seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic organization? We’re currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Finance Officer to join our team and contribute to our financial management and operations.

Position: Finance Officer

Salary: VUV 1,690,000 per annum

Location: VANGO Office, located in Port Vila

About Us: The Vanuatu Association of Non-Governmental Organization (VANGO) is the national umbrella organisation for all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) operating in Vanuatu. VANGO’s goal is “to build a vibrant NGO sector which accurately represents the interests of ni-Vanuatu people and disadvantages groups and promotes important local development issues”. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations, we are looking for a talented Finance Officer to support our financial processes and contribute to our overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  •  Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit processes
  •  Support the development and implementation of financial controls and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making

Qualifications:

  •  Tertiary education in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  •  Proven experience working in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a Non-Government Organization
  •  Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations
  •  Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  •  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
  •  Relevant certifications are a plus
