Position: Finance Officer
Salary: VUV 1,000,000 per annum
Location: VANGO Office, located in Port Vila

The Vanuatu Association of Non-Governmental Organization (VANGO) is the national umbrella organisation for all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) operating in Vanuatu. VANGO’s goal is “to build a vibrant NGO sector which accurately represents the interests of ni- Vanuatu people and disadvantages groups and promotes important local development issues”. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations, we are looking for a talented Finance Officer to support our financial processes and contribute to our overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial controls and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary education in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Proven experience working in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a Non-Government Organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
