WATER AND SANITATION ENGINEER (HANDS-ON!)
Immediate Start – 6 months initial contract
Our Cyclone Judy and Kevin Recovery Portfolio is looking for a hands-on Water and Sanitation Engineer based in Port Vila but with frequent travel to Tanna and Santo islands. We need someone that will bushwalk alongside our team to diagnose system issues and support fixes according to best- practice standards!
The role:
Provide technical and implementation support to a large WASH portfolio to help affected islands recover from Tropical Cyclones Judy and Kevin which struck in March 2023 to the achievement of ensuring inclusive access to water, sanitation and hygiene.
This role covers a wide range of tasks and responsibilities including:
- Supporting Staff in coordinating inclusive WASH construction for all areas in which the various projects within the program work, including budgeting, planning, and implementation.
- Coordinating design, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH infrastructure to a high quality
- Work well with our dedicated national team to ensure high quality construction which complies with national standards and meets local needs
The person:
To be successful in this role you will need to be:
- A qualified Water and Sanitation EngineerWell organised & excellent time management skills;

Your skills & experience:
- High level expertise in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
- High level of written and verbal communication – fluency in English required (for report writing); Experience in project, operations or budget management preferable;
- Experience managing teams of staff would be preferable;
- Experience in WASH, Inclusion or M&E a bonus but not compulsory.
