Human Resource Assistant

The Vanuatu Aid for Trade Management Unit (VAMU) operates as a division within the Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MTC), under the supervision of the Office of the Director General.

Main role is to provide technical support to various department and statutory bodies within the
Ministry specifically in aid of trade initiatives

The objective of the contract is to ensure the successful implantation of VAMU 2024 recruitment plan and assisting in other HR matters.

The Qualification:

1. Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resource, business administration or related fields is preferred.
2. Strong understanding and knowledge of Human Resource principles, practices and regulations within the government.
3. Well versed with the OPSC policy and staff manual
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
5. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
6. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
8. Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues across different departments
9. Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and deadlines
10. Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues independently
11. Ethical behaviour and integrity in handling confidential information
12. Be fluent in English, French and Bislama
