EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR TEMPORARY ASSISTIVE
DEVICE CONSTRUCTION OFFICER
World Vision Vanuatu (WVV) is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable members of our communities, including women, children and people with disabilities. PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Our EPIC LIFE Program aims to empower people with information about caring and locally-made inclusive functional equipment. With funding from a successful application to the global innovation challenge, the EPIC LIFE Program aims to ensure vulnerable people in Vanuatu have increased access to new innovative assistive devices that enhance safe and independent participation in daily activities.
As such we are looking for a suitable applicant to construct locally-made portable toilet commode chairs that will be a cost-effective solution to enhancing quality of life for our most vulnerable community members. World Vision encourages people with disability to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Construction of high quality timber and plastic Portable Toilet Chairs
- Facilitation of training participants to construct high quality Portable Toilet Chairs
- Notify WVV supervisor if any questions or challenges
- Inform WVV supervisor if unable to attend work
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Experience with carpentry or construction of timber products such as chairs
- Experience and confidence with using power tools safety
- Good communications skills and ability to train others
- Having their own workshop and business license would be an advantage
