Job Description

CARE in Vanuatu (CiV) is an international humanitarian aid organization fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities. As a non-religious and non-political organization, CARE works with communities to help overcome poverty by supporting development projects and providing emergency assistance. CiV has a focus on Gender Equality, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation and Inclusive Governance.

Women and Girls Friendly Spaces (UNFPA-funded)
CARE Vanuatu, through UNFPA, is implementing a short-term project (running until September 2023) in Tafea. The project will establish dedicated spaces for women and girls in up to 5 Tafea locations which aim to “WFGS strengthen the resilience and coping mechanisms of women and adolescent girls, including those with disabilities, affected by TCs Kevin and Judy through participation in safe spaces to heal (proces s emotions and experiences),
learn & support each other”. The spaces will include information sessions, service provision and activities that facilitate access fo r women and girls to knowledge, skills and a range of relevant services (End of Project Outcome 1) and support women’s and girls’ p sychosocial well-being and creation of social networks (End of Project Outcome 2).

                                             Sewing and Fabric Painting –Service provider (x3)

                                                 Part time: 1 month (Including travel period)

                                                   Contract Term: 11 October to 30 November

Purpose of the role
Overall objective

  • To provide sessions on Sewing and Fabric painting with women and girls (Participants of the WGFS) in the x5 WGFS location

Criteria
The Service provider is expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Clear understanding of the Child Protection and PSHEA
  • Passionate about enhancing the knowledge and skills of young girls and women in rural communities
  • Has been in the industry and confident in providing training to women and girls in rural setting
  • Able to travel during this period
