The Shefa Provincial Government Council wishes to recruit a suitable Candidate for the Position below.

Responsible to: Environment Coordinator & SG
Position Profile: Assist the area council on waste management awareness, by laws and perform waste services.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist with development, promotion and implementation of the SHEFA waste management By-Laws
- To assist with awareness programs to various communities and primary schools for waste management policy and requirements
- Advising the council and other relevant bodies/people on the likely impact of new legislation, policies and initiatives
- Overseeing the transportation of waste to ensure its efficiency and prevent contamination – of air, land or water
- Assist with the development of information and promotional materials
- Assist with the aim to meet waste reduction and recycling targets
- Deal with enquiries and complaints from members of the Shefa jurisdictions in either by person or via phone or email
- Consult with residents, community groups, councilors, housing associations etc. about waste management issues and identify their requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
- Analyze data collection and submit a written report
- Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time from immediate superior
Requirements:
- Must have a Degree/ Diploma Qualification
- 3-4 years of experience
- Ability to communicate and explain ideas and motivate others
- Analytical Skills
- Capacity to grasp and apply legislation
- Strong organisational skills
- Interest in and understanding of environmental and sustainability policies
- Decision-making skills
- Ability to oversee and manage processes and people.
