Job Description
VACANCY
ENGINEER VAS, BILLING & M-COMMERCE
Vodafone Vanuatu isseeking for an Engineer VAS, Billing & M-Commerce based in Port Vila.
Missions
- Support M-VATU platforms, agent and merchant configurations
- Support Vodafone in the integration of M-VATU system with Billing system
- Support with customer registrations solutions
- Support and integration of other new payment systems such as Payment Gateway and all Banks
- Delivery of Vodafone App
- Delivery of innovative solutions such e-sim, regional M-VATU integrations
- Support on implementation of new website with online payment system
- Support billing project and ensure all features are implemented for Post and prepaid systems
- Provide support on VAS platforms like: IN-OCS, SCP, DBS, USSD, VoiceMail, IVR, refill platforms such as e-top up, Voucher centre (VC) ensuring that they function continuously, efficiently and without any breaks and errors
- Support Vodafone Vanuatu internal and external customers with regards to VAS services
- Support Datawarehouse and reporting
- Support and help administer the local IT/IP infrastructure and related projects, ensure proper documentation and ensure proper preventative maintenance and backup procedures are in place and fully operational
- Support ICT Projects and assist with solution design and implementation
- Support Core & SMSC team as and when necessary and work with relevant stakeholders to continue to find ways to innovate.
- Take lead on innovation for all related domain
- Point of contact for any other regional technical support.
Activities:
- Project support related to M-VATU systems
- Support on Billing and VAS Domain
- Project management activity related to IP as when required
- Operation and maintenance of VAS platforms: IN-OCS, DBS, USSD, VoiceMail, Etop up, voucher centre to ensure high performance, error-free functioning, high availability of realized services, correct and efficient rating and billing
- Maintain the databases of VAS platforms
- Periodical health checks for all relevant systems
- Monitoring and supervision of systemsto ensure good performance and also fast fault detection
- Troubleshooting in case of faults, identifying root causes of errors and liaise with systems’ supplier for fault corrections
- Support on Implementation of new offers, packages and price plans according to company strategy
- Participate in new projects related to supervised systems and services
- Provide support to internal and external customers related to managed platforms/services
- Participation in resolving of customer complaints related to VAS services and billing
- Reporting to direct superior about any ongoing activities and their progress
- Reporting to direct superior the health status of supervised systems, defined KPIs and other required statistics including company dashboards
- Produce documentation on operational issues and work procedures
- Other activities relate to department concerned defined by the direct superior in order to fulfil all position’s requirements and to address current needs
- Point of Contact for other regional support
Qualifications & Competences:
1. Knowledge
- M.Sc. or Bachelor Diploma in Information Technology/Information Systems
- Very good knowledge of VAS and Billing services offered in telecom networks
- Very good knowledge related to databases especially Oracle
- Good knowledge of Linux operating system
- Good knowledge of SQL language
- Good knowledge and understanding about mobile networks especially their VAS & Billing parts. Knowledge about offered telecom services.
- Project management skills
2. Skills
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience as VAS Technician or VAS Engineer
- Fluent English, Bislama and French will be an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to fast learning
- Ability to work on a transversal way, understanding all the needs of the different entities
- Ability to work under time pressure
