Job Description
Youth Challenge Vanuatu (YCV) is a charitable organisation based in Port Vila working with Vanuatu’s young people since 2001. YCV aspires to empower young people throughout Vanuatu to reach their potential through community development, leadership, business, career and employment programs and services.
The purpose of the Employment Coordinator positions are to oversee and facilitate a structured internship program aimed at empowering young individuals in Port Vila and Luganville Santo, Vanuatu.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the internship program from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with tourism and hospitality employers, government agencies, educational institutions, and community partners in Port Vila and Luganville.
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including outreach, screening, and selection of program participants based on eligibility criteria.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs to prepare participants for internship placements and future career opportunities.
- Implement monitoring tools to track participant performance, collect feedback from stakeholders, and evaluate program effectiveness. Prepare regular progress reports and recommend improvements as needed.
- Work closely with employers to secure internship placements, monitor participant progress, and provide ongoing support to ensure a valuable learning experience.

- Monitor project expenditures, ensure financial accountability, and assist in budget planning and forecasting.
- Promote the program within local communities, schools, and youth organizations to raise awareness and attract potential participants.
Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Education or related field.
- Proven experience in project coordination or management, preferably in youth development programs or the hospitality industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders including youth, employers, and government officials.
- Knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry in Vanuatu is advantageous.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated strong time management, organizational and communication skills.
