Role Purpose
The ECD Coordinator will collaborate closely with the RMNCAH Coordinator at the Ministry of Health to pilot a Growth Monitoring and Promotion Plus (GMP+) tool. This tool aims to incorporate growth and developmental milestone monitoring into routine sessions at health facilities in order to enhance early detection, support, and referral of children with disabilities. The initiative will cover 20 health facilities in Shefa and Sanma Province. Operating within the framework of the Bildimap Bren Blong Pikinini (BBbP) project an integrated Early Child Development initiative funded by ANCP/DFAT for a duration of four years until July 2025, the overarching objective aligning with the ECD policy is to ensure that children aged 0-5 years throughout Vanuatu receive the necessary support to achieve their optimal developmental potential.
The ECD Coordinator will be stationed at the Ministry of Health, with a primary focus on implementing GMP+ activities. This role entails a dual reporting responsibility to the RMNCAH Coordinator and the BBbP Program Manager at the Save the Children office
