Job Description
The Vanuatu Society for People with Disability (VSPD) is a national wide Non-Government Organisation which assists people with disabilities to participate as fully as possible in Community life in Vanuatu. VSPD has been providing support and services for people with disabilities in Vanuatu for more than 30+ years. Our services include early intervention, community based rehabilitation, advocacy and awareness relating to disability and the rights of people with disabilities.
Due to continued growth, we are now seeking expressions of Interest for a Driver who will be based in Port Vila.
Purpose of Position
The role of the Driver at VSPD is to provide transportation and document delivery for VSPD in a Safe, reliable, timely and respectful manner.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Transport Officers to and from places of work in Port Vila including in Communities on Efate as per plan of Work.
- Organise Sitting arrangement for Passengers in the bus for Security purposes especially for Children.
- Keep the Bus Clean at all times both in and outside.
- Report any damage to the Vehicle.
- Bring Bus for Services or repair as required.
- Daily Up keep and Maintenance of the Bus.
- Check and Collect Mail from Post Office every Monday morning.
- Assist the Finance Officer to deliver and or get office documents to and from offices including the banks,
- Carry out other related duties that may be requested by the Management team.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Have a Valid Vanuatu Driving License
- Must have over 3 years safe driving experience
- Must be over 18 years
- Willingness to learn from, understand, and accommodate people with disabilities
- Work as a team member
- Must turn up on time for planned program for field visits
- Basic Vehicle Maintenance Skills.
