DISASTER READY PROGRAMME MANAGER

Job Purpose

The Disaster Ready Project Manager (DR PM) will provide technical and operational oversight of Oxfam in the Pacific’s portfolio of humanitarian preparedness activities within Disaster Ready (DR) implemented across Fiji, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands. The DR PM will ensure that all activities implemented within the project are delivered in accordance with donor compliance requirements and Oxfam program quality standards. Through working closely with in country teams, this position is responsible for building capacity to design disaster preparedness and climate change adaptation activities, establish partnerships with external stakeholders, implement program management procedures, and monitor the implementation of activities to ensure quality and compliance expectations are met. The DR PM will ensure that lessons learnt, and best practices are shared across the three countries, and keep up to date with industry standards of effective preparedness initiatives in the Pacific.

This position will line manage the Project Managers across Oxfam in the Pacific’s DR portfolio – Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu – with the potential for growth to other countries (should DR be scaled to Tonga, or Oxfam to scale in PNG). Moreover, the DR PM will collaborate with Oxfam in the Pacific’s Program Management Unit, Finance team and the AHP Program Lead in Oxfam Australia as well as with the Oxfam Australia’s Portfolio Managers, to ensure OAU’s program risks are effectively managed.
