Job Description
“The Disaster Risk and Resilience officer is a position based at the Area Councils to support Area administrators for the East Santo Area council and to ensure Communities are prepared to address Disaster Risks, Climate change issues are Addressed Accordingly. Vanuatu is one the Disaster-prone Country in the world and according to the (world Risk Report 2020), and these position exist to ensure Communities are effectively prepared to mitigate and adapt to the Different Risk that is constantly faced in the Communities, working with Vulnerable people in the Communities and empowering people with Disability organisations in Communities and support the Area Council and provincial Disaster officer to Lead effective, inclusive, and coordinated disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation and response activities at area council level.
These Role will be a four-year Role until 30 June 2025.”
