Delivery Driver
Job Description
Delivery drivers are responsible for transporting goods from our store to customers. They follow a specified schedule and identify the most efficient routes to avoid delays. They also conduct regular vehicle check-ups and maintenance to keep company vehicles in good working condition.
Delivery Driver Job Responsibilities:
- Delivers high-quality products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
- Establishes and maintains outstanding relations with customers.
- Reviews and verifies invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
- Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
- Contacts customers to confirm delivery details.
- Determines placement of merchandise, follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries, and conducts safety reviews.
- Maintains delivery logs and records.
Delivery Driver Skills / Qualifications:
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Has the initiative to help with other jobs within store when there is no delivery work at hand
- Familiarity with local streets, neighbourhoods, and routes
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry packages of at most 50 lbs; DOT
- physical exam required
- Excellent driving skills and able to drive standard manual transmission
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
