Contract CONSULTANT – GENDER/GBASED VIOLENCE (GBV) PREVENTION SPECIALIST

JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Government of Vanuatu, with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, the Ireland Trust Fund for Building Climate Change and Disaster Resilience in Small Island Developing States, will implement a project that aims to address the immediate needs of vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19, while building their resilience to withstand further pandemic impacts and other external shocks in the future.
The project has two outputs:
(i) Output 1: food security and income generating support delivered to poor and vulnerable women, and
(ii) Output 2: multidisciplinary responses to address GBV implemented.
The project is looking for the following individual consultant:
GENDER/GBASED VIOLENCE (GBV) PREVENTION SPECIALIST
A Gender/GBV Prevention Specialist will be engaged to oversee the implementation and monitoring of the gender action plan and oversee all the gender work in the project. The consultant will ensure timely implementation of project activities working closely with other Project Support Team consultants, consulting and non-consulting service providers and in compliance with the requirements of ADB and Government of Vanuatu.
Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
The qualifications for the consultant include the following:
(i) Bachelor’s degree in gender study or other related field in social sciences,
(ii) at least 5 years of general work experience with at least three years’ experience in gender analysis and/or advising on gender-inclusive development;
(iii) excellent oral and written English skills;
(iv) excellent interpersonal relations, planning, coordination, and teamwork skills; and
(v) prior experience in working with ADB or other international development agencies will be preferred.
