Job Description
Provincial Industry Development Plan 2022 – 2027
The Ministry of Trade, Tourism, Commerce and Ni-Vanuatu Business (MTTCNVB) through the Department of Industry is seeking the services of a Consultant. The objective of this Consultant is to develop a Provincial Industry Development Plan carry out necessary consultations and field investigations on Efate, Santo, Malekula and Tanna in relation to the most socially, environmentally and economically viable agro-industry resource and product with high potentials for development in each of the six provinces.
The Consultant will be based in Port Vila, Vanuatu and is envisaged to work up to 70 Working Days, spreading over a number of months. Travels outside Port Vila and Efate are expected.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
Professional Experiences:
- Proven working experience in Vanuatu or other Pacific Island Countries;
- Knowledge of economic or development policies and related sectors in Vanuatu or the Pacific;
- Proven experience in undertaking economic and social development assessments in the industrial sector;
- Excellent knowledge of industrial development, value addition and issues affecting developmental growth in the Pacific;
- Experience in development and review of economic or development policy;
- Excellent communication and analytical and reporting skills;
- Experience in stakeholder dialogue and national, provincial and community level participatory consultation processes;
- Ability to organize and facilitate workshops and meetings;
Education Background:
- University degree in economics, industrial development or any other fields in the socials
Language skills:
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bislama. Good understanding of French would be an advantage.
