Full-Time CONFERENCE AND EVENTS SALES MANAGER
Job Description
The Ramada Resort by Wyndham is seeking a suitable candidate to join our team as Conference and Events Sales Manager.
The role holder will be responsible for the conference and event function, reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager. Leading, developing and motivating a high performing team to deliver exceptional events is the core objective of this role, however the role holder will have involvement in client relations, Health & Safety, finance, HR, sales and planning. Also be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and achieve daily targets, whilst offering a very high level of Customer Service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving, handling and converting Meetings, Events and Group enquiries.
- Planning events in conjunction with the client
- Presenting and selling available and suitable banquet/event options to highest possible standard
- Contact Meeting planner by email, telephone, customer outings and site inspections
- Assist in development and solicitation of Banquet and event package plan and aimed at conference business and encourage repeat business.
- Arrange and carry out hotel show rounds
- Ensure the complete administration and execution of all planned events.
- Actively manage business bookings, record denials, make network referrals
- Continue professional development through educational offering made via industry trade groups and educational institutions.
- Encouraging repeat business through excellent customer service and inquiry handling.
- Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs.
- Ensuring all inquiries are recorded accurately in the Event Enquiry application (Triple Seat, Opera etc.).
- Provide monthly and periodical forecasting for the C&E account
- Bring in direct guests though online marketing and advertising.
- Helping the hotel to identify new avenues of business and bring in more banquet events to the hotel.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of sales, department and budgetary reports as and when required.
- Other duties and tasks assigned by the management within the job scope.
- Effective yield event space to maximize revenue per square meter
REQUIREMENTS:
- Operational knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Experience of working with a diverse casual team
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, internally and externally
- Resilience to manage multiple tasks and priorities importance
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Experience in planning and management of events
- Flexible approach to working time
