VACANCY NOTICE
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development wishes to recruit an experienced qualified person for Agricultural Investment for Markets & Nutrition Project to the following position:
Job Title: Climate & Environment Specialist (SECAP)
Annual Salary VT: 2.4- 2.6 million
Location: Port Vila
Duration: 4-5 years
Selection Criteria:
- Candidate should have minimum master degree in Climate or Environmental Science, Climate adaptation or a related field and at least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in the field of environmental and climate assessments and management, conversant with International Financial institution’s E&S safeguard mechanism, implementation and their management.
- Proven experience in implementing international environmental and social safeguards policies/standards (e.g. World Bank, ADB, etc.);
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (both spoken and written) and excellent communication skills;
- Ability to build capacity and train various stakeholders related to climate adaptation and SECAP, requirements and activities;
- Familiarization with the environmental and social document preparation and its requirement and implementation for the project;
- Ability to work well with Government officials and community personnel;
- Strong and demonstrated capacity for organization, management with excellent reporting and coordination skills as well as strong leadership, technical competence and professional skills for timely implementation, coordination and management of activities;
- Ability to work in a team, develop synergies and establish effective working relations with various stakeholders;
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, resourcefulness, initiative, tact and ability to cope with any situation
