Full-Time CHIEF SECURITY
Job Description
Iririki Island Resort & Spa and Jewel Casino Limited are seeking a suitable candidate to appoint for following position.
CHIEF SECURITY
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees and establishment needs
- Report to the Front Officer Manager all Resort property deficiencies and safety or security hazards
- Initiate action to improve a hazardous situation immediately
- In the event of fire, be thoroughly familiar with and guided by the Resort’s emergency plan
- Be familiar with location of fire alarms and fire-fighting equipment
- Monitor staff clocking on and off duty
- Conduct random checks of key registers in telephone room, banqueting, engineering, stewarding and housekeeping to ensure the Resort’s key control policy is adhered to and report on discrepancies
- Maintain a 24 hour surveillance of those areas that are frequented by guests and all work areas
- Maintain a daily log of incidents
- Conduct regular locker checks in line with Human Resources
- Check all packages and passes of employees entering and leaving the building
- Maintain a good knowledge of the liquor act and criminal code
- Prevent Sabotage of Resort premises
- Ensure all outlets, fridges, cupboards etc are fully secured when not in use or unattended
- Ensure no undesirables loiter in or around the Resort premises
- Ensure there is no obstruction to the Jetty or loading dock and that unauthorized boats are removed
- Coordinate functions with other security staff or Police and other Government Security and promote good will with them
- Implement the Resort policies and procedures and advise Superiors and Human Resources of action taken
- Be correct, secure and courteous in handling any disciplinary or criminal case
- Be alert for any unusual packages, guests or suspicious behaviour and advise superior of same
- Be thoroughly familiar of the property layout, design, entry and exit points
- Make way by escorting VIPs and dignitaries when directed and direct traffic away from Reception and other busy thoroughfares
- Ensure that the Security control office is never left unattended
- Provide escort duty for money transfers to the General Cashier’s office or bank as required
- Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with Resort requirements
- Ensure team roster is completed weekly and time cards updated in time target daily
- Implement and audit all procedures for security including emergency incidents
- Ensure all incident reports are completed within 24 hours of incident occurring
- Follow up on all third party reports eg police reports for completion of in-house incident reporting
- Update all SOPs for the security team
- Ensure team is groomed as per employee handbook
- Coordinate all administration duties as required for the security team and report directly to Chief Security
- Perform other related duties and assignment as required by the Chief Security or Resort Senior Management.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience: 3 years experience in security firm
- Special Skills: Communication skills, working skills, planning skills
- Thinking style, Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Analytical and practical thinker; writing, reading, honest, punctual, active and shows commitment
- Language: English or French and Bislama is usual.
This is a full time position to commence immediately.
